Description, Background, History, Relationships

Tula is a member of the Stupendous Stoats. She is played by Brennan Lee Mulligan.

Description[]

In an interview, Brennan mentioned that there "is a certain melancholy to Tula."[1]

She is a red-brown stoat of average size, though she is noted several times to be very attractive by various characters.

Background[]

Tula is a single mother to Lila and Jaysohn. Her partner, Geoffrey, is no longer around, leaving her to raise their children on her own. She holds a position of power in The Red Warren, acting as a sort of leader along with her mother Ava.

Tula reveals to the group that she froze to death in the winter following Geoffrey's death, but somehow revived herself via 'the Blue' because she needed to be there for Lila and Jaysohn. She regards the event with shame and embarrassment, which motivated her to hide it from her family until then.

History[]

Tula is Ava and Kenji's oldest daughter, and Viola's sister. Her mother tells the group that Tula was more promiscuous in her younger days, and is described as being protective over her younger sister.

By the time the campaign begins, Tula has grown to be more subdued and careful with her words, as well as an incredibly devoted mother.

Relationships[]

Ava[]

Ava is Tula's mother. They have a somewhat strained relationship, as Ava is constantly pushing Tula, urging her to be presentable and questioning her parenting choices. Despite her annoyance with her mother's actions, Tula always shows her great respect and accepts her criticisms without argument.

Viola[]

Viola is Tula's sister, and they have a friendly, loving relationship despite Viola leaving the warren with Thorn. Viola sticks up for Tula in front of their mother and they commiserate over Ava's treatment of them, and often find comfort and company in one another. Tula is the first person to know of Viola's pregnancy, and frequently provides her with advice and reassurance.

Thorn Vale[]

Thorn Vale is Tula's brother-in-law, married to her younger sister Viola. She finds him to not be the best example for Jaysohn and Lila at times, but grows to trust him immensely.

Jaysohn[]

Jaysohn is Tula's son. She is quite patient with him, and praises his skills when he can use them correctly, or to help them in the current situation.

Lila[]

Lila is Tula's daughter, and the older of her two children. She often relies on Lila for help in wrangling her brother, who is just happy to please her.

Big Walmer[]

Big Walmer is a stoat a few weeks older than Tula. He attempts to impress Tula, eventually resorting to enlisting the help of her mother to get her to notice him romantically, though that endeavor isn't successful.

Bennett[]

Bennett is a large stoat and head of Resource Allocation at Last Bast, who grows to be Tula's love interest, and it is implied that they become a couple in the show's epilogue. Tula appears to reciprocate his interest in her, and he is far more gentle and understanding with her than the other members of her family.
