For hundreds of years, the region of the Baronies has experienced so much noble infighting, assassinations, coups, countries being renamed, and border changes that other countries simply gave up on figuring out what was going on and just designate the whole region as the Baronies.

Around 2 weeks before the Maidens' junior/senior year, Valian is conquered by Grimner.
