Watches and Wards is a very powerful abjuration book kept in the restricted section of the library at Aguefort Adventuring Academy.
Description[]
The book was turned into a protective ward shortly after the Elven Oracle, Eleminthindriel, gave a prophecy warning of Kalvaxus's return. It is stolen on the first day of school by Adaine Abernant and confiscated by Vice Principal Goldenhoard, who asks Kristen Applebees to put it in his office since, being Kalvaxus, he cannot touch it. The book stays there until the Bad Kids come across it again the day of Prom. Adaine then reads an excerpt aloud to the party, which is transcribed below:
"You are reading the first few pages of Watches and Wards, examining the spell with detect magic you can see a powerful abjuration preventing Kalvaxus from ever touching the book or asking someone to remove the book for him. As long as this book is kept in the restricted section of the library no summoning's or harmful conjurations can occur on school grounds. Only Arthur Aguefort or the Elven Oracle are physically capable of removing the book from the restricted section of the library. All others would be knocked unconscious on their first attempt."
